Gosh it sure is a little bit awkward because I haven't write for more than a year.
I've been buying new things and my friends keep asking for some reviews, beside, I really need some distraction from all of the stressful things that happened lately, so.. here goes..
Today, I am reviewing this one particular product which I used for almost 2 months as a moisturizer.
Holika Holika Aloe 99% Soothing Gel
The first thing I noticed was the PACKAGING. It's super cute and unique; it really captures the refreshing feeling we usually get from Aloe Vera. Well you're supposed to see an image of Aloe Vera from upfront, but the bottle was frosted because I put it in my fridge ehehehehehee

The second thing I noticed was 99% Aloe like whaaaat~ The Nature Republic Aloe Vera has 92% aloe so I was like this has 7% more ya...
I personally never bought the Nature Republic one because I don't like the packaging at all, it's super bulky and unhygienic (it's in jar. big NO); but I tried it once and don't really like it because my skin felt like it burned in some of the sensitive areas like the upper lips, nose, and neck. so I never purchased it because why should I~~~~
So, I was taking a risk buying this Holika Holika Aloe 99% Soothing Gel.
I bought this at the Holika Holika Counter for IDR 208.000, and you can get cheaper price (probably 50% cheaper) at online shops. Just beware of the fake products. Always make sure that the online shop of your choice only selling original product, it's the skin we're talking about

At the backside of the package, there is product description, and already had the Indonesian Translation. That is one of the convenience of buying in the counter.
You can actually read the ingredients but I'll just write it anyway:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Zea Mays (Corn) Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Polyacrylate, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol
Well it's actually Aloe Vera with other natural extract like cucumber, corn leaf, cabbage, watermelon, and so on.
Here's what the product claim to be:
- 99 % fermented aloe vera leaf juice is contained.
- Fermented contents maximize the effect of activating components like aloesin. So it helps your skin to be clear & healthy.
- Moist feeling without stickiness.
- It is absorbed fast & freshly without stickiness. plus it soothes the stimulated skin by hot sun light & makes your skin moist & sleek.
- 7 free system for skin health
- No Paraben, No Benzophenone, No Propylene Glycol , No BHT, No Animal ingrediet, No artificial coloring, No mineral oil.
Seeing from the ingredients above, the really are free from the 7 things mentioned above. we'll see if they're really living up for their product claim.
How to Use?
Not only for the face, Holika Holika Aloe Gel can be used in several ways. I gathered the information from their official website.
Gosh I spotted a typo at the end of the image (the typo-sense is tingling).
The use is quite a lot and I use this Gel all over my hair 15 minutes before I got into shower. Because I clean my hair quite regularly and somehow it makes my hair a bit dry. This product helps my hair.
Anywaaaaaay....
This is how the tube (or bottle?) look
We can actually control how much product we want to use.
When you squeezed the tube, it looks very gooey but sturdy. How do I explain it ya? It's not watery at all, it won't stream down from your hand. But when you spread it, it have this watery feeling (only the feeling, not actually watery) which is very nice and relaxing. It took approximately 1-2 minute to completely melt IN to my skin. My skin just welcome the gel very nicely.
It's not tacky, not sticky. the skin just feel nice and cold.
The smell is floral-like, refreshing, but it doesn't linger. I think some people will be annoyed by the smell, but not me. I like how it smells.
I actually been using it as eye mask by putting some product to a cotton pad then leave them on my eyes.
That is how it is.
Now what do I think about it?
(+) Hygienic tube/ bottle packaging
(+) Cute packaging
(+) Really does its job as claimed in the website
(+) multi-functions
(+) A little goes a long way~
(-) A bit pricey in the official Holika Holika counter
I don't mind the product doesn't have any additional effect like UV Protection or Anti Aging because it only claims to be a soothing gel. I love this already.
Repurchase? Heck Yeah
